Directly at the port of Hamburg, several cubistic office and administrative buildings were developed at the start of the 21st century as a result of various architectural design competitions.  Among these was the new administrative building for EDEL Musik AG, designed by Antonio Citterio.  Instead of a standard office building, the idea was to create a type of campus where employees can meet and interact. For this reason, the building at Neumuehlen 17 stands out from the overall architectural ensemble in the area.

Citterio used diamond-ground Obernkirchener Sandstein® for the floors and walls in the busy lobby area and also for the restaurant, bar and the auditorium.
